ALEXEY SUKHOV. TIGERS. SUPERLOVE. 2016
Retaining wall, acrylic paint
Alexey Sukhov (a.k.a syhmen) is an illustrator and artist who grew up in the town of Luchegorsk in the Primorsky region. The absurdist mood and style, the use of plenty of details and contrast color palette are the key features of his works.
In 2016, Zarya CCA opened Alexey Sukhov’s exhibition for which he created this bright street artwork. Among its characters are the Amur tigers that are the symbols of the Primorsky region and a blue-colored mutant heart with three chunky lumps. There is a legend behind this artwork. According to it, everyone who rubs his or her hand against the giant heart and makes a wish will have superlove. This is why the artwork is hidden behind the greenery of local hills and guarded by the figures of the taiga tigers.
