MIOSHE. LE CÈDRE DU KRAÏ DE PRIMORIÉ. 2019

Facade, acrylic paint

MioSHe (Antoine Martinet) is a French street artist. His works are characterized by a great number of details and surrealist style of images that are frequently filled with creatures from a personal imaginary bestiary of the artist (e.g., both strange and attractive satyrs).

10-meters long wall painting Le Cèdre du Kraï de Primorié (The Cedar of the Primorsky Region) was created during MioSHe’s grand tour around Russia, for which he visited such cities as Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Kronstadt, and created artworks in each of them.

MioSHe’s painting refers to the installation artwork by Giuseppe Penone named Cedro di Versailles (The Cedar of Versailles) that is still available for visitors of the Palace of Versailles’ Museum.

In the first place, MioSHe pays tribute to nature in this artwork. However, he is also attentive to humans and their hard labor, craftsmanship and creative work that is still being done despite the development of modern technologies and automatization of production.
