CHARITY AUCTION OF CONTEMPORARY ART TO SUPPORT CHILDREN IN NEED AND A PRE-SALE EXHIBITION OF THE AUCTION LOTS

The close of a productive and eventful year brings with it a period for taking stock of the past year and building on plans for the future. Many of us also usethis time as an opportunity to turn our thoughts to our loved ones, to provide warmth to those around us and support to those in need.
This is why, before the onset of our long-awaited winter break, the Zarya Center for Contemporary Art and ARKA Contemporary Art Gallery have joined up with children’s charity fund, “The Warmth of Our Hands,” to embrace the age-old tradition of giving at Christmas and take part in the annual charity action. This event not only offers the perfect opportunity to find unique works of contemporary art to giftto your nearest and dearest, but also, through our collective efforts, to help those who need our care the most: orphans and children left without parental care. With your support, we can help make their life a little better, and, most importantly, to strengthen faith in human kindness.
Our charity event is made possible through the active generosity of a community of local artists, as well as past and present residents of Zarya. Auction participants will have the opportunity to purchase paintings, works on paper, photographs and sculptures from artists including the collective EliKuka, Ustina Yakovleva, EVOL, Pavel Shugurov, Evgeny Makeev, Vladimir Pogrebnyak, Kirill Kryuchkov, and many others, hailing from Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, Moscow, Tokyo and Berlin.
WHOM WILL WE HELP?
For 2017, the auction of contemporary art aims to draw attention to the problems facing the children helped by the charity fund, “The Warmth of Our Hands.” The foundation’s volunteers provide assistance to children who do not have a mother or father in their lives and who, for clinical or social reasons, have spent extended periods of time in the Vladivostok’s regional children's hospital No. 2. Young children can remain in this ward for long stretches of time, after which they are either returned to their own family — an extremely rare occurrence — or, more likely, they are left as orphans.
The nursing ward of the hospital is currently home to about seventy children, ranging in age from six months to four years old. Most now live full-time in the ward, practically never leaving it. “Hospitalism” is a term for the mental and physical lag in development experienced by children with a lack of sustained contact with adults. For abandoned children, the only necessary means for socialization and the prevention of hospitalism are walks in the company of volunteers, who can take the children to one of the two playgrounds on the hospital campus, which themselves are in dire need of refurbishment.
The goal for this charity auction is to raise funds for a new, well-equipped playground in the courtyard of the hospital. This playground would serve not just as a wonderful gift and touching gesture, but also as a necessary tool for the socialization and development of primary motor skills in young children — and almost the only accessible means for play, socializing and development for the kids living in this ward. WHO IS ORGANIZING THIS AUCTION?
A good deed can be difficult to do alone. This is why we are so grateful to our partners, ARKA Contemporary Art Gallery and the children’s charity fund, “The Warmth of Our Hands,” for their invaluable support in the organization of the auction. Beyond the auction, every event of the Zarya Center for Contemporary Art has been made possible through the committed support of the Beluga Group and Royal Credit Bank.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE?
We invite guests to visit the pre-auction exhibition, free of charge. This special preview opens at the Zarya Center for Contemporary Art on November 17, 2017. At the exhibition you can get a first look at the lots offered at the auction, as well as have a look through more information and the hospital wish list. Additionally, visitors will be able to make a donation or register for the auction.

Благотворительный аукцион в ЦСИ «Заря» собрал более полумиллиона рублей
Центр современного искусства «Заря» подвел итоги благотворительного аукциона. По результатам торгов общая сумма собранных средств составила более полумиллиона рублей. Все средства, вырученные от продажи лотов выше стартовой цены – а это 264 250 рублей – будут направлены в пользу детей, попавших в сложную жизненную ситуацию.
На аукцион свои работы предоставили художники из Владивостока, Хабаровска, Москвы, Берлина, Токио. Из 57 лотов было куплено 46. Самыми дорогими стали картина из серии «Роботреализм» владивостокского художника Ильяса Зинатулина (60000 руб.), а также «Слава народному искусству» Виктора Серова (40 000 руб.) и работа «Из серии Братушки-философы. Конфуций» Андрея Камалова (40 000 руб.).
За многие лоты развернулась настоящая «борьба». Так, произведение «Совершённый подход» Кирилла Крючкова превысило стартовую стоимость почти в семь раз (20 000 руб. при стартовой в 3 000 руб.), а «Полынь» Алексея Короткова — в четыре.
«Мы проводили аукцион в третий раз, и каждый раз он получает поддержку союзников и постепенно расширяет географию участников. Продажа работ и сбор средств – важная и значимая цель аукциона, и мы рады полученным результатам, однако это не единственная наша задача: важно объединить сообщество через общую благотворительную цель и привлечь внимание общественности к социальным проблемам, таким как сиротство. Мы благодарны всем, кто нам помогал, и очень рады за тех, кто приобрел прекрасные работы в коллекцию,» – комментирует результаты аукциона главный куратор ЦСИ «Заря» Алиса Багдонайте.
По условиям аукциона, стартовая цена проданного лота остается художнику, а всё, что выручено свыше этого, направляется на благотворительные цели. Однако многие художники внесли свой вклад, передав в помощь детям и часть стартовой цены. Например, арт-дуэт «ЕлиКука» направил на благотворительность треть от стартовой цены (10 000 из 30 000), а Камато Юкико – всю сумму (15 000 рублей за лот «Стараться, прилагать усилие»).
В этом году при поддержке фонда «Тепло наших рук» ЦСИ «Заря» помогает детям-сиротам до 4 лет, длительное время находящимся в медико-социальном отделении Краевой детской клинической больнице №2. Целью аукциона стал сбор денег на новую оборудованную детскую площадку во дворе больницы. Такая площадка – это не яркий подарок и красивая акция, анеобходимый инструмент для социализации и почти единственный доступный детям способ для игр, досуга и развития.
«Я благодарю всех причастных к проведению благотворительного аукциона: организаторов мероприятия, отзывчивых художников и неравнодушных участников. ЦСИ «Заря» собрал значительную сумму на приобретение игрового оборудования для уличной детской площадки», — отметила директор фонда «Тепло наших рук» Ирина Наркевич.
Напомним, что благотворительный аукцион прошел в ЦСИ «Заря» в третий раз. Партнёрами мероприятия выступили галерея современного искусства «Арка» и благотворительный детский фонд «Тепло наших рук». В этом году свои работы на аукцион выставили Василий Галактионов, Пётр Горелов, Андрей Дмитренко, арт-группа «ЕлиКука», Ильяс Зинатулин, Лилия Зинатулина, Андрей Камалов, Юкико Камата, Валентин Карпов (33+1), Сергей Кирьянов, Александр Киряхно, Денис Коробов, Алексей Коротков, Алексей Круткин / Лёха Г., Кирилл Крючков, Мария Ламзина, Валентина Ластова (33+1), Максим Листопадский, Владислав Лукьянович, Евгений Макеев, Павел Немтин, Владимир Погребняк, Петр Работник (33+1), Данил Сахаров, Виктор Серов, Алексей Сухов, Ксения Тимко, Илья Торт (33+1), Сергей Черкасов, Устина Яковлева, EVOL.
